BASA In - House and Micro Soccer
Rules and Regulations
June 12, 2010 THE IN-HOUSE AND MICRO SOCCER
DIVISION IS CONSIDERED A NON-COMPETITIVE LEAGUE – NO
SCORE IS KEPT NO JEWELRY FOR ANY DIVISIONS
OR AGE – NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!! 1.
Learning, participation, and fun, along with good sportsmanship, will be
encouraged at all times by everyone participating and viewing the games. 2.
Every team member (of non-competitive leagues) will play one half of the
game, unless the coaches have taken disciplinary measures. The Rules,
Appeals, and Discipline Committee must approve any disciplinary action. 3.
Each team will field no more than the maximum allowed by age group 4.
Players should be rotated through all positions to give them the chance
to learn the various positions on the field.
NOTE: If a
player has strong objection to playing a certain position (such as
goalkeeper), he/she will not be forced to play that position. 7. All team
members and coaches are to shake hands at mid-field before or after the
completions of the game. No unsportsmanlike conduct will be tolerated. 8.
All players are required to wear shin guards (inside their socks),
matching jerseys, and black boxer type soccer shorts. A player not
wearing the proper equipment or uniform may be ineligible for play,
until the player reports to the referee wearing the required equipment.
Rubber spikes, WITHOUT toe cleats are permitted and encouraged. 9.
Non-participating players and coaches will be required to line up on the
same side of the field, between the mid-field line and their respective
penalty area, and 3 feet from the touchline (team bench
area). Teams are not permitted to change bench areas after each
period. 10.
Spectators are to view the games from outside the touchline of
all fields, behind the blue line or staying at least 10 feet away from
the touchline. Spectators are not permitted in the team bench area or
behind the goal areas. Anyone coaching or distracting players from
behind the goal line will be asked to move. 11. In cold
weather, long sleeve shirts and sweatpants may be worn under a player’s
uniform. All hooded shirts MUST be tucked in under the jersey.
The jersey must always be the outermost garment. For U6 and
U8 age groups wearing black sweatpants in cold weather is
permitted. 12.
Uniform jerseys must be tucked in to prevent another player from
getting their hands caught in loose clothing. 13.
Mouth guards and protective eyewear is highly recommended. 14.
Coaches and parents are not permitted on the field of play,
unless given permission by the referee. 15.
It is highly recommended that all teams arrive to the fields at
least fifteen (15) minutes prior to the scheduled game time for warm-ups
off the field. There is no warm-up time allotted for the field. 16.
All games and practices may only be played on those fields
approved by B.A.S.A. 17.
No tobacco products (SMOKING or CHEWING) or alcoholic beverages
are permitted at any function sponsored by B.A.S.A. 18.
Coaches and parents are
never justified in interacting with any player, fellow coaches,
officials, or other parents in an abusive negative manner.
IN-HOUSE - U10 and OLDER THE IN-HOUSE DIVISION IS
CONSIDERED A NON-COMPETITIVE LEAGUE – NO
SCORE IS KEPT NO JEWELRY FOR ANY DIVISIONS
OR AGE – NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!! 1.
B.A.S.A. will supply a center referee for each game. 2.
Recruiting Players is allowed
only if the following
does exist:
U10 team does not have enough players to field a starting team or
do not have 2 substitutions.
U12/U14 using a full size field team does not have enough players
to field a starting team or they do not have 3 substitutions. If a
smaller size field is used than 2 substitutions are required.
The recruited player
MUST be a currently registered player in B.A.S.A. program. If a
travel
player or players are being used as a recruited player than the team
must be balanced out.
The recruited players may be used as substitutions if team
players need a break or in case of injury with the approval of the
referee. 3.
Substitutions are permitted on an unlimited basis from the center
of the field and at any stop in play, with the consent of the referee
and with in PA West rules at the following times:
●
Prior to a throw-in by either team
●
Prior to a goal kick by either team
●
Prior to a corner kick
●
After a goal is scored by either team
●
After each period
● Play stoppage for an injury 4.
Each game will not exceed a total of 55 minutes and comply with
the following guidelines: U10 and older each
game will consist of two (2) periods, each period will last twenty five
(25) minutes. There will be a five (5) minute break between each period.
If agreed by the referee and both coaches, a break may be called during
half. NOTE: In the
event time does not permit the above time frames, the game will be
played in
equal periods. 5.
Handling the ball will only be called when the player’s hand (arm
or shoulder) is intentionally used in such a manner to deflect the ball
and gain an advantage. When the ball simply strikes the player in the
arm, this will not be called handling! 6.
Goalies are to wear a jersey of contrasting color to both teams
and may wear long pants 7.
The Offside penalty will be enforced in U10 and older divisions.
An Offside position is defined as: ● A player with any part of their body that can legally play the ball that is in a position, which is nearer to the opponent’s goal line than the ball and two (2) opponents.
The Offside penalty is defined as:
● A player, at the
moment the ball is played, is in an offside position and receives the
ball from a teammate, OR a
player that is in an offside position and interferes with an opponent
(obstruction) or gains an advantage from being in that position. 8.
Players are required to be at least 10 yards from the point of
the throw in, corner kick, free kick or Penalty Kicks
MICRO-SOCCER - U6 / U8
THE MICRO-SOCCER DIVISION IS
CONSIDERED A NON-COMPETITIVE LEAGUE - NO
SCORE IS KEPT NO JEWELRY FOR ANY DIVISIONS
OR AGE - NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!! 1.

A goal cannot be scored immediately after any kick (i.e.: a goal
kick), unless another player first touches it. There are no direct
kicks for U6/U8 micro soccer 7.
For U8 the goalkeeper should be rotated after the completion of
each period. But can be substituted with the consent of the referee
during the period, if a goalkeeper is used in the age group. The
goalkeeper may handle the ball anywhere within the goal area, however
must play as a normal
offensive or defensive player outside the goal area. The field
will be laid out as above 8.
Line changes should be made throughout the game so that the same
three players do not always play
together or the same position. 9.
When the ball goes out of play, the game is re-started by one of
the following ways:
● To start the game and
each period - Place Kick
●
U6 Over the touch line - Kick in
●
U8 over the touch line – Throw-in
● Over the goal line by the
attacking team - Goal Kick
●
Over the goal line by the defending team - Corner Kick
● After any goal - Place Kick 10.
During goal kicks, the defensive players must remain behind the
centerline. The ball will be in play once it has rolled forward. 11.
When an U8 player incorrectly throws the ball in, the player will
be given a second chance. After the second attempt, if the throw-in is
performed incorrectly, a change of possession will occur and the team
with possession will throw the ball in. 12
All infringements will be punished by an indirect kick. There are
no penalty kicks in Micro-Soccer. The referee will advise all players of
their infractions and explain why the penalty was called.
13.
Offside will not be called.
