Blackhawk U12 Boys 3, ABE 1

It was a very cool Sunday afternoon at Highland where Matt Warnaka went 29 minutes and 38 seconds into the game before giving up the only goal scored by ABE. Just the reverse of last week, Brent Gardner had a great second half shutout. Our defense and mid fielders played a very solid game in support of our keepers. In a last ditch effort, Tim Davis cleared the ball from the goal area to keep ABE off the board for a second tally. Kirin Siton and Joe Coveny played sweeper, while Matt played stopper in a new style defense for your U12 boys.

Jacob Belcastro scored our first goal on a breakaway pass from Drew. Jacob returned the favor by crossing the ball to Drew Barger who tucked it high in the upper left. Josh Daniels and CJ Burawa moved up the field in unison where CJ dished the ball off to Josh for our third goal of the afternoon.  The rest of the team chipped in to put together a second victory.

We have a new addition to the team with Nick Sosnowski, who for only one practice, was right on target to fit the team. Welcome Nick.

Blackhawk U12 Boys 5 Slippery Rock 2

After a very slow start against Slippery Rock who scored two fast goals, your U12 boys team put it all together and scored 5 unanswered goals for a 5-2 victory. Brent Gardner and Matt Warnaka put on a goal keepers clinic. Maybe a little rusty at the start, Brent gave up two goals early. After these two goals, Brent became a blockade, stopping all shots that came at him. Matt sported a second half shutout while Brent scored a goal once he hit the field. Defensive players Myles Vujaklya, Kirin Siton , Tim Davis and CJ Burawa along with an array of subs made a wall that added a ton of support to their keepers. Everyone knows that defense wins championships.

We have some very solid two way players. Joe Coveny, Zach O’Connor and Keaton Allison possess speed and field vision, qualities that that complement the O and D. Drew Barger and Josh Daniels played a very solid game both with three shots. Joe Coveny, Jacob Belcastro, Kyle Lyndes and Damian Palaich all had one goal each, on assists from Cj Burawa, Kirin Siton, Micheal Randza and Josh Daniels. With this combination of defense and offense I believe your Blackhawk U12 Boys will have a very good season.
