Blackhawk 9 Hanover 1

In a game that may determine our final position in the league your U-10 team stepped up and played a very strong game, defeating a talented Hanover team 9 – 1. Brent Gardner had a first half shutout and Kyle Lyndes allowed one goal in the second half but played very solid.

Jake Belcastro scored three goals and Corbin fry and Robbie Swinderman each had two.  Beck Holko and Mike Turconi completed the scoring. Tim Davis played his best game of the year and had three assists  along with Joey Coveny, Brent and Beck each had two. The entire team played like a team should and worked the game just as they practice.

Our next game is Monday May 19 at 6:00pm when we play our make up game against N. Brighton at our Highland field. We are currently tied with N. Brighton for second place, so a victory is vital to stay on top. I know your team will give it their all and play the best soccer they can.

So come out and cheer them on. GO BLACKHAWK

(GO PONIES!!!!!!) for the boys

The rains came and so did the delay. We are rescheduled for Monday May 19th at 6:00pm at Highland. Come watch us this Sunday as we face -

Hanover at 1:00pm at Highland

Blackhawk 7  Seneca Valley 7

Your U 10 Boys remain undefeated with a 7 to 7 tie against Seneca Valley.  Corbin Fry scored five (5) goals with assists from Coveny (2), Swinderman (2) and Daniels.  Kyle Lyndes and Joseph Coveny each scored one. Matt Warnaka, Josh Daniels and Jake Belcastro all played solid goal.

The field at SV was suspect; however the boys put together a great performance. Robbie Swinderman , Owen Schaefer and Brent Gardner fought off a very impressive Seneca Valley offence.  Rj Debo, Beck Holko and CJ Burawa filled in superbly to keep our team without a loss to this point in the season.

Our next game is Sunday May 11th at 1:00 pm against New Brighton at home. Please come out and cheer on your U10 boys team.

Your Blackhawk U-10 boys won again today over a very aggressive Center Township team by a score of 2-1. I want to send a special thanks out to the Girls U-10 team for a very physical scrimmage on Friday night. The girls showed our boys how tough the game of soccer can be.

Owen Schaefer played an amazing keeper position facing about ten shots, including a diving one handed save. Our starting offence today Corbin Fry, Joey Coveny and Jake Belcastro applied enough pressure on Center to score two goals and combine for nine shots. The defense was solid the entire game, with Robbie Swinderman and RJ Debo making some very impressive plays to keep us ahead in this game. The rest of the team played so well that I have to give them all an honorable mention. Josh Daniels,  CJ Burawa, Matt Warnaka, Brent Gardner and Kyle Lyndes. Keep up the great work gentlemen.
Our next game is Sunday May 4th at 1:30 againts Senaca Valley

Blackhawk U10 boys played their first travel game this season against a very fine Mars team Sunday at Highland. The boys put together an excellent performance and came away with a 5 to 3 victory. Goals were scored by Mike Turconi, Joe Coveny, Beck Holko, Jacob Belcastro and Matt Schafer.  Keepers Corbin Fry and Mike Turconi played very solid game and fended off a last minute rush from the Mars team. Our next game is Sunday at Knoch at 1:30.

The weather was perfect for a soccer game after a very rainy night. The field was in excellent shape and the U10 boys played like true professionals. They won their second game 4-3 over a strong Brighton Township team keeping their no loss record intact. This week’s goal scorers were Robbie Swinderman on a pass from Jacob Belcastro.  Joseph Coveny was in the right position to score after applying great pressure and forcing a turnover then beating the keeper high over his left shoulder .  Corbin Fry scored a great tic tac toe goal from Coveny and Gardner, showing that hard work at practice pays off in the game. The final goal was scored by Owen Schaefer who pressed Brighton, forced a turnover and then tapped the ball home for the game winner. Corbin Fry also had a perfect 1st half as keeper facing about eight shots and stopping them all. Our next contest is at Center Township Sunday the 27th at 1:00pm.
